IIIT Hyderabad shows drones that pick up objects on spoken instructions at IROS 2026
IIIT Hyderabad presented 10 papers at the IROS 2026 robotics conference in Pittsburgh, several on drones. One framework, AERMANI-VLM, lets a drone with a robotic arm follow natural-language requests to find, pick up and place objects, using only pre-approved actions to keep it safe. Another, AeroGrab, helps drones grasp objects in cluttered spaces without collisions.
